Holiday region Plan de Corones/Kronplatz in South Tyrol – Dolomites
21 modern gondola ropeways, 5 chair lifts as well as 6 T-bars lead up to the wide and mostly treeless rounded mountain top of the Plan de Corones/Kronplatz from three different sides. Thanks to the considerable transport capacity of more than 70.000 people per hour, the 32 lifts in the ski area rarely work to full capacity and so there are hardly any queuing times.
The Plan de Corones/Kronplatz ski area boasts more than 100 km of perfectly groomed slopes altogether. State-of-the-art snowmaking systems which can cover all the slopes with snow as well as a fleet of 32 powerful slope groomers and a crew of almost 250 employees make sure that excellent snow conditions are always guaranteed.
Plan de Corones/Kronplatz, the ski resort no. 1 in South Tyrol, is also highly attractive for snowboard fans, offering 2 snow parks. The slopes range from flat for beginners to steep for pros. Unique are the six downhill slopes: here you can ski until early spring. The downhill slopes to Valdaora/Olang offer an altitude difference of 1,170 m. If you choose the more levelled 6 km long downhill slope to S. Vigilio/St. Vigil, you cover an altitude difference of 1,070 m. A very special experience are the slopes “Silvester” and “Hernegg”, leading from the summit to the Riscone/Reischach Valley Station with an altitude difference of 1,300 m.
On the “Erta” slope (Ladin for steep”) you find another extraordinary challenge, taking you to the centre of S. Vigilio/St. vigil. An unforgettable experience for skiers!
In winter 2006/07 Plan de Corones/Kronplatz was annexed to the legendary Sellaronda in the Dolomites thanks to the construction of the “Piculin” gondola cable car and the black slope with the same name in Alta Badia. Additionally, a shuttle bus in Piccolino/Pikolein takes skiers to the ski resort at 20 minute intervals.
Anterselva/Antholz valley: on (ski) tour!
Change the ski lifts with furs, experience the deep silence of the mountains, and draw your own traces in the soft powder snow – ski tours in Anterselva/Antholz promise feeling at peace with nature. Requirements are top equipment and condition, thorough planning of your tour and a realistic evaluation of possible natural risks.
Riepenlift, the family friendly lift in the heart of Anterselva/Antholz
From the beginning of December until mid-March, the tow lift offers access to excellent slopes with perfect snow conditions and a gorgeous view to the small village Anterselva di Mezzo/Antholz Mittertal. The 1,600 m long Riepenlift is a paradise for children and beginners. The short natural slope is a practice ground for experienced skiers. Next to the smooth slope you find a small hill, offering the ideal playing ground for kids, and a 200 m long toboggan run at the edge of the slope which is often used by parents and those looking for off-piste alternatives.
Directly at the slope you find the ski school Anterselva/Antholz valley, offering courses for children and adults as well as individual lessons held by enthousiastic skiing and snowboard teachers. What’s more, the Biathlon Centre in Anterselva di Sopra/Antholz Obertal offers cross-country lessons.
The Plan de Corones/Kronplatz ski pass is also valid for the Riepenlift.
